NEHA has been designated a continuing education accreditation agency for registered environmental health specialists by the California Department of Public Health. 

Information for CA REHS Credential Holders

Contact hours earned through attendance at activities approved through NEHA will count toward completion of the continuing education requirement for REHSs.

Information for Providers of Continuing Education

Providers of continuing education courses in environmental health may apply to NEHA to become a Registered Provider to offer continuing education courses in California for REHSs.

Q:What is a Registered Provider (RP)?
A: A RP is someone or some entity that has applied to an Accreditation Agency to offer their continuing education courses to CA REHSs.

Q: How can I apply to become a RP through NEHA?
A: Complete the Application to become a Registered Provider. If applying for approval for more than one course please fill out a separate Course Information sheet for each.

Q: What are my obligations once approved by NEHA as a RP?
A: For each course administered or given the RP is responsible for having participants complete the course roster (NEHA provides a template) and distribute the Course Evaluation Form and Certificate Request Form to participants (forms provided by NEHA).
