Straight
Talk About NEHA and Policy
Executive Director Nelson Fabian describes the
volume of work the NEHA government affairs program does in the
policy-making arena in his latest Managing Editor’s Desk column, “Straight
Talk About NEHA and Policy,” featured in the March 2007 Journal.
The column shares the specific positions that NEHA has taken, the
relationships that the association has formed, and the meetings that NEHA
has participated in that all in some way lead to policy outcomes—be they
legislative, regulatory, cultural, or voluntary.

Does the field of
environmental health have any broadly recognized leaders? And if
so, where are those leaders steering us?
The 15 people featured in the January/February 2007 Journal
of Environmental Health were identified as leaders by
practitioners from around the country. Our staff reporter
subsequently interviewed them about their own careers and about a
variety of issues facing the profession as a whole. The resulting
profiles are collected in the second installment of a two-part
series, “Profiles
in Leadership, Part II: The 15 Faces of Environmental Health
Leadership.”
