ABOUT THE POSITION

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas has an excellent opportunity for you to join us as our Director of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S). In this key role you will oversee the management of academic, research and clinical compliance in EH&S policies for our academic medical center. As Director of EH&S, you will determine and set health and safety standards while also planning and developing overall strategy for EH&S institutional support in radiation safety, laser safety, biological safety, chemical safety, fire and life safety and occupational safety and environmental monitoring. It will also be your responsibility to direct and manage the development and training of environmental health and safety program managers and supervisors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering Technologies or a related field and at least 5 years experience in the management of staff and operations within an EH&S department at an academic medical center or institution. Master’s degree or PhD in Safety Engineering or related field preferred.
