Provides environmental health inspections and investigations of public and private establishments and other environmental situations to ensure compliance with local and state health and safety codes. Serves as environmental and public health educators who provide information and perform specialized environmental health work in areas such as water, air quality control, food, solid and hazardous waste, institutions, recreation facilities, epidemiology, insect and rodent control, and other environmental problems.

The emphasis for this position will include, but is not limited to, inspections of restaurants, grocery stores, food processors, child care facilities, schools, and response to potential zoonosis.


Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Environmental Health, or a related field, with a minimum of one 3-credit hour course in microbiology.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred.

Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Colorado Driver's License.
