Environmental and Occupational Health Assistant/Associate Professor

ABOUT THE POSITION

Advise and teach a diverse population of undergraduate and/or graduate majors and students, establish an active research program, guide student research projects, and provide service to the university and professional organizations. Depending on individual expertise, teaching areas for example may include: administration, air quality, food safety, graduate research seminars, industrial hygiene, materials and hazardous waste management, EOH program management, research design, risk analysis, toxicology, vector control, and water quality. The successful candidate may be required to teach on weekdays, including evenings, and possibly weekends and on-line.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Doctoral degree in Environmental and Occupational Health or a closely related field. ABD candidates will be considered, but doctorate must be completed by the appointment date. Professional experience in an Environmental Health discipline is desirable. Example areas include administration, air quality, food safety, industrial hygiene, materials and hazardous waste management, EOH program management, research design, risk analysis, toxicology, vector control, and water quality. CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) or REHS (Registered Environmental Health Specialist) credentials are desirable. Teaching and professional experience are criteria in evaluating candidates. Experience in student advisement is desirable. Candidate should demonstrate commitment to working with a diverse student population. Experience with on-line teaching and instructional technology is highly desirable. Ability to develop and offer on-line courses or to utilize other instructional technologies is highly desirable.
