The purpose of this position is to serve as an environmental protection specialist within the manufactured (wholesale) food regulatory compliance program. In this capacity, this position will conduct regulatory inspections, utilize technical instrumentation to analyze food processing equipment and environmental conditions; collect regulatory samples; analyze and interpret complex data parameters; prepare technical reports; assure timely and accurate compliance determinations; and issue manufacturing compliance advisories as well as informal and formal enforcement actions for wholesale food manufacturing and storage facilities.



Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in biology, microbiology, physical or health science, environmental health or related field and two (2) of Job Bulletin professional level experience (3 yrs or more strongly preferred) conducting manufactured food inspections and associated compliance, investigatory and enforcement related activities. Inspection experience and training to include advanced technical inspections such as Acidified Foods, Seafood HACCP, Juice HACCP and Low Acid Canned Foods and a demonstrated working knowledge of the FDA’s Manufactured Food Regulatory Program Standards.
