Conference & Preconference Registration

Advance your expertise and career potential by obtaining a NEHA credential or certification at the AEC. You may choose to take just a credential/certification course, just an exam, or both a course and an exam.

Note: Only qualified applicants will be able to sit for an exam. A separate application is required for each credential exam and the application deadline is 5/31/17.


Registered Environmental Health Specialist/ Registered Sanitarian (REHS/RS)

A 14-week review course will be offered online starting on April 3 which includes an abbreviated face-to-face review at the AEC on Thursday, July 13, 8am – 12:00 Noon. The exam will be held at 12:30 pm on Thursday, July 13. Individuals will need to submit the application and all required documents and fees by May 31st in order to be eligible to sit for the exam.

This online refresher course is designed to enhance your preparation for the NEHA REHS/RS credential exam. Participants are expected to have a solid foundation of environmental health knowledge and training equal to the eligibility requirements to sit for the REHS/RS credential exam. This course alone is not enough to pass the REHS/RS credential exam. The class will cover exam content areas as described in the Candidate Information Brochure.

 

Cost: $499 Members, $599 Nonmembers. REHS/RS Study Guide is not included.

Certified Professional – Food Safety (CP-FS)

The course will be on Saturday and Sunday, July 8 and 9, 8am – 5pm daily. The exam will be held at 8:00 am on Monday, July 10. Individuals will need to submit the application and all required documents and fees by May 31st in order to be eligible to sit for the exam.

This two-day refresher course is designed to enhance your preparation for the NEHA CP-FS credential exam. Participants are expected to have prior food safety knowledge and training equal to the eligibility requirements to sit for the CP-FS exam. The course will cover exam content areas as described in the Candidate Information Brochure. The instructor will be available during and after the course for questions.
 

Cost: $375 for members and $475 for nonmembers. Includes the CP-FS Study Package (CP-FS manual, NEHA’s Professional Food Manager book, and the 2009 and 2013 FDA Food Codes on CD), a $235 value.

Certified in Comprehensive Food Safety (CCFS)

A review course will not be offered at the AEC this year. The exam will be held at 8am on Monday, July 10. Individuals will need to submit the application and all required documents and fees by May 31st in order to be eligible to sit for the exam.

The CCFS is a strong core credential for food safety professionals with a primary concern of overseeing the producing, processing, and manufacturing environments of the U.S. food supply. It has been designed to meet the increasing need for highly qualified food safety professionals from both industry and the regulatory community that provide oversight in preventing food safety breaches at U.S. production and manufacturing facilities and abroad.

Certified in Food Safety Supplier Audits (CFSSA)

The CFSSA exam will be held at 8:00am on Thursday, July 13th. Individuals will need to submit the application and all required documents and fees by May 31st in order to be eligible to sit for the exam. There will not be a review course offered at the AEC.

Advance registration is $100 for full conference attendee or $300 for workshop only attendees.

Developed to meet the multiple training needs of newly appointed and seasoned environmental health officials, this intensive, interactive program focuses on management versus leadership, successful strategies, and best practices for leaders.


Affiliate Leadership Workshop

This workshop is free – pre-registration is required (capped at 85 participants). 

Specifically designed to share information and tools that will help environmental health association leaders manage their organization. 


Private Well Outreach and Assessment for Environmental Health Professionals

Presented by Water Survey and the Water Resources Center at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Monday, July 10
9 AM – 1 PM

Free to attend, but advance registration is required and capped at 50 participants.

This workshop covers best practices for well owner outreach, online resources, and a new assessment tool for the evaluation of private well vulnerability to contamination. Participants will learn how to effectively engage private well owners, how to develop a program for outreach, best practices for managing a well owner program, and how to use the assessment tool.
