About the Position

The incumbent in this position is responsible for planning, developing, and enforcing health programs to maintain health and sanitation standards, regulations, and procedures designed to protect the public within the Seminole Tribe of Florida. Reviews, evaluates, and analyzes work environments and designs programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury caused by chemical, physical, and biological agents or ergonomic factors. Conducts inspections and enforces adherence to regulations governing the health and safety of individuals. Develops and coordinates health and safety education and training programs. Educates the general public about the regulatory requirements for public health and safety and utilizes best practices for reducing hazardous conditions in publicly accessible areas.


Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Environmental Health and/or Occupational Health is required. A minimum of five (5) years of related experience is required. Must demonstrate proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and Outlook. Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills required. Must possess a valid FL Driver’s License and must be able to travel to all the Seminole Reservations. Possess a Sanitarian or REHS is highly desirable. Must have at least 5 years Food Inspection experience. Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
