Housing Programs Supervisor 

About the Position

The Housing Programs Supervisor is the principle planning consultant and program supervisor for the Transient Accommodations (TA) Program and the Temporary Worker Housing (TWH) Program.  S/he supervises staff; independently plans, develops, organizes, directs and evaluates the program activities; leads the development of associated regulations, technical standards and guidance, best practices  and policy; reviews, analyzes and comments on state and federal legislation; and, as requested, provides expert testimony to the  legislature, the State Board of Health, and at administrative hearings and other legal proceedings.  S/he supervises 6 full-time staff.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in a major study of public health, environmental health, or a closely allied science or field; AND six (6) or more years (full-time

equivalency) of experience in a local, state and/or federal regulatory or health services program.

OR

A Master's degree in a major study of public health, environmental health, or a closely allied science or field; AND four (4) or more years (full-time

equivalency) of experience in a local, state and/or federal regulatory or health services program.

AND

Demonstrated computer skills in the following:

  • Intermediate-level experience using MS Word to create, format, and edit tables, columns, and charts; import data and sort table data; insert and format sections, and create headers and footers.
  • Intermediate-level experience using MS Excel to create and manipulate large or complex spreadsheets, use complex mathematical formulas to calculate data, and link worksheets; import data from other sources, filter lists, and create and format charts and graphs.
  • Using MS PowerPoint to create, format, edit, and run slide shows presentations; previewing and printing slides, speaker notes, and handouts.
  • Using MS Outlook to compose, send, and respond to e-mail and to coordinate schedules and schedule meetings.
